Who is VW?

VW Sands is a character created in Second Life that reflects the man behind the avatar that has spent some 35 odd years in the waters around the world.

The real world V was born and raised in San Clemente Ca. Trestles was “home” for the first 20 years and every spot along the west coast was ridden countless times before moving north to Oregon. Surfboards were replaced by Snowboards for a few years while shredding the slopes of Mt. Bachelor, Baker, Hood, Hoodoo and Ashland to name a few. A move across the pond to Sweden meant Snowboards were still usefull and still an important part of my quill. The general flatness in Sweden brought with it the need for Kites and Sails so the garage is now stuffed with not only Surfboards but Kiteboards and Windy´s. Lakes? Yeah we have a few hence the natural “need” for a Wakeboard or two. Skateboards have been replaced by Longboards (kick-flips replaced by downhill carving) and Skimboards are still fun but my body seems to disagree with falling hard nowdays.

The long winters and frozen lakes in Sweden meant coming up with yet another “combo” and we have managed to combine Snowboards with Kites. Blasting across the lake on a snowboard pulled by a kite is a rush indeed.

So this blog is nothing more than “our” spot to ramble at the mouth about all things board. Surf, skate, wake, snow or skim, if it´s performed on a board “we” do it and have so for more years than I want to admit
